I was looking for something I hadn’t read in a while, and I also wanted to practice my increasingly rusty and creaky French before I found it too difficult to bother with. After working my way through a whole pile of review copies in an attempt to give myself some breathing space before my IFFP reading got underway, it was time for something a little different, a return to old comforts.
